Roosters are feisty and full of flair. Competing for the adoring eyes of the female hens in the yard, roosters strut their stuff playing “cock of the walk.” Proud they throw their head up and crow at the sun, showing off their voice and physique at the same time. Tenth in the order of animal years, Roosters are considered to be honest and straightforward animals.

Whether you are male or female, if you are born in the year of the Rooster you are sure to want to shine in the lime lights. You are tough, resilient and able to spring back after a fall. Your confidence (although sometimes misplaced) gets you through where others with less stout hearts would fail. Deviousness just isn’t in your nature, nor is duplicity.

You are courageous in your beliefs and protective of those whom you care for. You bring a passion to everything you approach that makes it easy to get others to believe in your cause. Roosters are capable of great accomplishments, but, like the rooster chasing the hens you can be bossy and aggressive. Sometimes aggression is a good thing, but look before you leap.

In the work environment Rooster people are normally a strong asset. Roosters can be somewhat abrasive with those they have long term contact with, but the Rooster tendency to love to socialize does much to smooth any ruffled feathers. Occupations wherein the individual can be the center of attention at least some of the time are best for some Rooster folk with a large number of Roosters in the fields of Opera and ballet. Less grandiose, but no less important careers such as administrative assistants, bookkeepers, financial advisors, dentists, information technologies, and serving in the armed forces are all great career paths for those born in the year of the Rooster. Motivating Roosters is actually rather easy as they are hard-working and can be very status-conscious.

Roosters aren’t nearly as mysterious as many of us see them. The lighter colors of peach and apricot will appeal to their artistic nature. If you’re looking to surprise that Rooster in your life, a terrarium or walking cane (ebony would be best). A silver hip flask would be appreciated by the Rooster who will be happy to show it off! If you really want to make a big hit with the Rooster woman in your life, try getting her a brocade jacket. If you want to spend some good quality time with a Rooster friend or significant other try such pastimes as golfing, fishing, gardening, hiking and crafting flowers out of silk. Roosters don’t do well with being teased, and bad manners are sure to get you shown the door if Rooster sees them! If you really want to make a big impression on the Rooster personality, the gems and stones of diamond, ruby and topaz are sure to get you a positive response.
