Mind and Spirit Throw your own party
The Body, Mind and Spirit Party Plan is just that – it is a gathering that focuses on all three aspects of the entire person. It soothes the body, expands the mind, and thus sustains the spirit. It actually sounds more complicated than it is! And, it *can* be fun.
“Guest Lists Body, Mind and Spirit”
The Body, Mind and Spirit party can be as intimate or as large as you choose. It can work for 2, 20 or 200, the scope does not change the intent nor the action. The only caution is to ensure that the people you invite are open to new ideas.
“Preparations List Body, Mind and Spirit“
1. Check your telephone book and get phone numbers for:
a. The local Gem Club or Geologist Club. Ask if they have anyone who can come and speak about different types of rocks and how they are formed. Another place to look is at the local new age bookstore and see if there is someone who works with Crystals that will come give a talk. Normally it’s pretty easy to get someone to come show off their stones and talk about them. Just make sure you set a “start” and “stop” time with them – especially if there is a fee.
b. Another option would be to ask someone from a different religious belief system to come talk about some of the basic tenants of their faith (although this is more dicey and you have to be much more careful when deciding on your guest list).
c. Food. This party is best done over a “dinner” situation. Whether you serve pizza or pate, it really doesn’t matter. The idea is to set up an atmosphere conducive to conversation.
2. Call and set up the speaker and food (as applicable).
3. For just a few dollars you can get a book at the new age book store or off the internet that gives the meaning or associations of various precious and semi-precious stones. Don’t forget to look at the used bookstore too!
Suggestions As To How To Make Body, Mind and Spirit Work
1. Set the “schedule” so that the speaker should begin their presentation about ½ hr after the event begins.
2. Serve dinner directly *after* the speaker.
3. For decorations go to the craft store and get some polished stones. Get little boxes or cups to put the stones in and set them around the table. If possible try to get some of the stones that the speaker will be talking about.
4. The body part is the food, the mind part is the talk.
5. So, where is the spirit part you’re wondering? Well, that’s easy. After dinner while your guests are comfortable and relaxed is the time for the spirit part. As you are relaxing ask each guest what their favorite stone or gem is. When they answer look the stone up in the book (or on an internet site if you’re that computer handy/savvy) and read what that stone is said to do! Body, Mind and Spirit
