Temperance
Dressed in simplistic robes to indicate her innocence, a woman with upright wings stands on the verge of the sea. She is depicted with her feet on the sand while the foam licks at the wind blown hem of her simple gown. In each hand she holds a cup and is mixing the water of life between the two of them, maintaining a balance between the cups.
A lot of people misunderstand temperance and what she asks of you. It truly is simple. Moderation in all things is probably best. There aren’t many of us who haven’t literally eaten ourselves sick at one time or another as we gorged on our favorite treat or drink. We overdid it and in the over doing of it, most of us never want that particular food item again! Moderation talks about moderating your attitude. She calls to you to look within yourself to find the inner harmony she projects.
When Temperance is in your spread you need to be sure you aren’t entering into a situation of conflicting interests. Are you being too impatient with someone? Look around, is it time to consolidate your energy or physical goods. Temperance talks about the patience of dealing with others. When we deal with others with temperance and gentleness we can form a perfect union.
